Microsoft Research hires Carnegie Mellon leader as head of international labs

Microsoft Research immediately named famous laptop scientist Jeannette Wing, the two-time head of Carnegie Mellon’s laptop science division, to the place of vice chairman in cost of Microsoft Research International, overseeing the corporate’s analysis labs in India, England and China.

It’s a newly created place for Microsoft. Wing will report back to Rick Rashid, the corporate’s chief analysis officer, after beginning at Microsoft in January.
