Spacewalkers put new hand on robot arm

Information Temporary: NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Scott Tingle spent almost seven and a half hours on a spacewalk exterior the Worldwide House Station to install a new “hand” on the station’s robotic arm. The 440-pound hand, often called a latching finish effector, is one among two appendages on both finish of the Canadian-built arm. The opposite one was switched out last October. Vande Hei and Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai will do one other spacewalk to stow away the station’s spare robotic hand for future use.
