Twitter is beginning to test labels for bot accounts

Twitter is beginning to roll out labels for automated accounts (or bot accounts), the corporate introduced Thursday. “Examples of automated accounts you may see on Twitter embody bots that enable you to discover vaccine appointments and catastrophe early warning methods,” Twitter said in an FAQ. “When these accounts let they’re automated, you get a greater understanding of their objective if you’re interacting with them.”

Initially, in what Twitter is calling a test, a small variety of builders will probably be invited to give you the option to apply the labels to their accounts. For accounts within the test which have activated the labels, an “Automated” label will seem on profile pages and on tweets themselves for accounts. Twitter says all builders will probably be ready to use the labels by the top of the 12 months.

The rollout is kicking off a bit later than the July timeframe that was beforehand promised. Twitter is additionally engaged on a label to memorialize individuals who have died. Last we heard, that label was scheduled to be out there this 12 months.
