Watch these drone film festival winners to see what’s possible with the high-flying technology

A film festival out of New York devoted to the art of drone cinematography went to nice heights to choose its winners this previous weekend.

A variety of entries showcase what’s possible with drone cameras, and the festival’s finest in present supplies a dizzying 3 1/2 minutes of overhead footage of somebody operating throughout a wide range of landscapes down beneath.

“2D Run — MMP 3 (Blended Movement Mission)” splices collectively footage of seemingly regular operating and leaping with some fairly loopy rooftop parkour strikes. The film was shot by Ilko Iliev and Marin Kafedjiiski out of Bulgaria.

Different winners in the third annual New York Metropolis Drone Film Festival included a documentary on the protests surrounding the Dakota Entry Pipeline, referred to as “#NoDAPL: Drones Monitor North Dakota Police.”

“Drone Star Wars” received in the narrative class and options R2-D2 flying an X-wing fighter by himself as he engages in a dramatic dogfight with some TIE fighters.
